Bring your fur-friend

Dog-Friendly Hotels

Take your pet with you on your next hotel stay

We’ve chosen our favourite dog-friendly hotels in some of the UK’s most popular destinations where you can enjoy the surrounding landscapes together before coming back to your cosy hotel room.

Where to go for a dog-friendly holiday?

If you and your dog are looking to explore the wild and rugged landscapes of England’s Lake District, Peak District...

or Borders regions, then why not book a cosy country hotel, perhaps somewhere like the Cotswolds, with open log fires, a rustic restaurant where you and your dog can relax and eat delicious home cooked meals, and rooms well-equipped with a bed for you and one for your four legged friend.

Where to take a dog on a city break?

For a city break in which you and your pooch can explore chic restaurants and parks, in places such as London or Edinburgh, then we’ve found hotels that not only allow dogs, but positively welcome them! This makes taking your dog with you feel completely easy going and an altogether more pleasant experience rather than feel it is an inconvenience.

Dog-friendly hotels near the beach

If you’ve got a dog who loves water and is itching to be taken to the beach, then why not treat yourselves to a dog-friendly weekend away in Brighton, Devon, or Scarborough, where you can spend all day running around on the beach in and out of the surf. No matter the season, fresh sea air, fish and chips on the beach and a cosy hotel room perhaps with a free standing bath, are always a good shout!

Advice for taking your dog to a hotel

A word of advice, it’s always best to let the hotel know that you are planning to bring your dog with you when you stay. That way they can make sure to have the room ready so you both feel comfortable during your stay. Size is also an important factor and although most hotels are happy to accept all canine creatures, occasionally they may want to be forewarned of what to expect. You can also check out if there are certain areas in the hotel that are restricted for dogs and what you may need to bring with you. It’s best to give the hotel a call or drop them an email in advance, and that leaves no room for confusion.
