explora

1/2

In the heart of Patagonia at the Torres del Paine National Park, explora actively immerses travellers in the stunningly untamed scenery of South America. On the shores of Lake Pehoe, the hotel enjoys striking sights of the Paine ridge and granite towers. Based around what the hotel describes as ‘essential luxuries’, the explora allows guests to take in the remote location in its true essence, without distractions or disturbance, and take full advantage of the silence, privacy, and space of the surrounding landscape. Wood plays a key role in the hotel’s decor, and the 49 rooms of explora are not equipped with televisions or Wi-Fi, so that travellers may actively seek a real escape from their everyday routines.

Dishes at the explora have been thoughtfully created so that guests feel agile and energetic, and are always accompanied by superb Chilean wine. The massage room and pool area are located 100 metres away from the main building of the explora. Connected by a dipped wood path, they feature a heated and covered pool, sauna, and four open-air jacuzzis with views over the Paine River. The only hotel in the area with its own horses, explora’s 2 de enero Ranch acts as the starting point for some of the rides, housing 26 horses of different breeds and crosses.
