Best Menorca beach hotels: stunning sea views, luxurious spas and unlimited sun

The smaller, arguably quieter Balearic isle has recently found its feet. A long-time hit with families, in the past few years Menorca now has a sophisticated side with the opening of boutique hotels and stylish places to stay.

With more beaches than Majorca and Ibiza put together, this island is the perfect beach holiday destination with stunning hidden coves and wild natural beaches, as well as oodles of buzzing, family-friendly stretches of sand.

Away from the coast, there are vineyards, hiking routes, Bronze Age ruins and pretty villages to explore (Fornells, on the north coast, is a favourite of the Spanish royal family). The two charming port cities, Mahon in the east and Ciutadella in the west, make for cultural days out. What’s more, thanks to its compact size, you can pack in a visit to the furthest corners of the island and still have time for a play in the pool and a glass sangria in the afternoon.

When it comes to accommodation the choice is vast—from adults-only luxury retreats to fun-fuelled family hotels and eco-friendly beachside boltholes—Menorca beach hotels have something for everyone.

Even the dining options are diverse enough to keep everyone happy; kids will love Casa Nostra’s wood-fired pizzas and a must at the Cape Nao beach club is the Menorcan lobster stew.
