Edinburgh in February
An exciting and historic city, Edinburgh is perfect at any time of year but if you’re looking to save the pennies then February is the ideal opportunity. The wandering lanes of the old town leading up to Edinburgh castle and the Georgian mansions of the new town make Edinburgh a fascinating place to visit with shops, pubs and restaurants to satisfy any budget.

Spend February in Galway
Arty, bohemian and beside the seaside, Galway is filled with brightly painted pubs, side-street cafes and medieval town walls. Considered the most ‘Irish’ of all of Ireland’s cities, Galway is an ancient shipping port and trading gateway to Spain, Portugal, and the rest of Europe. One of the remaining remnants of the medieval town walls was built to protect Spanish ships coming in to port, but was partially destroyed after an earthquake hit Lisbon sending a tsunami over to Galway.
If you are interested in seeing more of the surrounding countryside, then Galway is also within a two-hour drive of the Cliffs of Moher – well worth a daytrip if you’re in the area…
