Family hotels in Majorca: great hotels to keep everyone happy

Give the kids a holiday they won't forget in these gorgeous family friendly hotels in Majorca. Think hotels with water slides, children's pools and all the other fun activities...

Even if children’s hotels may sound like stress, noise and exertion for you parents, trust me: your children will thank you and make some great memories. To get you started, I’d recommend booking a family hotel in Majorca. The flight isn’t that long and there’s a good reason the island is such a popular holiday destination.

And voilà: here are ten family hotels in Majorca that will put a twinkle in your little ones’ eyes and let them create unforgettable memories.

Family friendly hotel on the stunning Playa de Muro beach in Majorca

1/4

The four-star hotel Prinsotel La Dorada sits right next to the family-friendly Playa de Muro beach in the north-east of the island. The spacious garden and hotel complex offers your kids plenty of space to play and run around. In the meantime, you can relax and doze in a semi-shady spot.

While your little bundles of energy are entertained at the family hotel’s Mini Club or participate in the entertainment program, you can enjoy a beauty treatment at the spa or relax in the sauna. Once the hot midday sun has disappeared, you’ll all hit the pool together to cool off. The little ones can let off steam in the children’s splash pool and use up the rest of their energy at the children’s playground before dinner.

In the evening, you’ll eat in the buffet restaurant, which has a separate dining room for little gourmands. There, they can help themselves to their hearts’ content from the train-themed buffet. And best of all, the kids are looked after during the meal, so you don’t have to cut up any schnitzels!

Four-star family friendly hotel in the north-east of Majorca

1/4

The Iberostar Albufera Playa is also located directly on the popular and stunning beach of Playa de Muro. This four-star children’s hotel in Majorca is perfect for both lazy and action-packed holidays. It offers so much variety that you won’t even need an additional holiday programme any more. Indulge in culinary delights at the five restaurants, explore the huge complex with its beautiful gardens and return home completely refreshed thanks to Spa Sensations.

I remember reaching an age when I didn’t want to play with my sister any more. After all, I was already really mature and a super-cool teenager. For uber-cool teens – like myself at the time – and suffering siblings who need a playmate, there’s the Maxi Club at the children’s hotel, as well as a separate Teenie Club. Here, children and teenagers alike definitely get their money’s worth. The youngest guests are entertained at the Mini Club. As parents, you’ll be grateful for one less squabble to listen to.

While the kids are busy, you can try your hand at Fit Biking or take a stroll to the beach. The next day, your little rascals can explore the children’s playground and the kids’ pool. If your horde are fussy eaters, don’t worry: the hotel is well-prepared and offers a children’s menu.

Family friendly hotel on a gorgeous beach in Majorca

1/4

The three-star family hotel Inturotel Esmeralda Park sits on the beautiful beach of Cala Esmeralda. The studios and apartments of this children’s hotel in Majorca are all equipped with a kitchenette. If you are travelling with an infant, you can easily prepare baby food and bottles there. Although the hotel complex boasts two pools, only one of them is used for activities. It also contains the children’s area. So you can sit back by the other pool without needing to worry about sneaky water splashing attacks.

While the little ones do handicrafts and play in the mornings, the family hotel’s entertainers hold competitions with the older kids and really tire them out with activities – in the hope that in the evening, they’ll fall asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow so you can enjoy another cocktail at the bar. Your kiddies will definitely not get bored on holiday, because they’ll get to experience something different every day. From the playground to the games room to the pizzeria and ice cream parlour, there’s something for every child! A highlight is certainly the minigolf course, where you can have fun together as a family. In the evening, you can enjoy your dinner in the buffet restaurant with a wonderful view of the sea. Even the discerning palates of the youngest guests will be satisfied.

Family friendly hotel in a quiet seaside location

1/4

The four-star family hotel Iberostar Pinos Park sits in a quiet seaside location and is a real kids’ hotel. The family rooms have sea views and are located in the quiet garden or near the pool. I must admit, I used to find it incredibly exciting to be the very first person to jump into the quiet pool in the morning. Back in the days, my poor dad always had to get up early with me. The rooms also have a fridge and kettle, which is especially useful if you’re travelling with an infant.

Your little ones can frolic on water-spitting monsters in the splash pool. And what will you be doing in the meantime? You can relax with a cappuccino on the adjacent sun terrace and chill out while you watch the little rascals play. The hotel staff really put their heart into looking after the children every day. One day is Harry Potter Day, and the next handicrafts and zombie games are on the agenda. The adventure playground with zip-line is guaranteed to delight little guests. At 8 pm, the kids gather their last bit of energy and storm the stage with the mascot to do the club dance. Afterwards you can enjoy a show together as a family – for example, an acrobatic number.

Children friendly hotel in a small bay

1/4

This children’s hotel in Majorca is located in a small bay. The four-star hotel Iberostar Club Cala Barca is perfect for a family holiday and offers plenty of fun and action. Entertainment, competitions, shows and sports activities keep your children on their toes, and you will certainly not hear any whining or complaints about boredom! There are two children’s pools so the little ones have enough space without getting in each other’s way.

In the children’s pool of this family hotel in Majorca, little rascals can romp around the castle, get splashed by the water fountain or speed down the slides. I can guarantee you: they’ll sleep like babies at night. In the various children’s clubs, your little treasures can take part in painting workshops or create wonderful handicrafts. I still have a T-shirt that I painted at the children’s club on holiday at the time. I loved my holiday at the children’s hotel so much that I just can’t part with it. Of course, you’ll also find the obligatory mini disco at this children’s hotel in Majorca. And the evening shows are also suitable for the whole family. Watch a magic show and try to work out together how all these tricks work.

Family friendly holiday in Majorca with studios and apartments

1/4

This children’s hotel is located in the north-east of Majorca near a fine sandy beach. The Zafiro Cala Mesquida specialises in families and therefore offers apartments and studios. Book connecting bedrooms or choose a Swim Up Apartment. You can conveniently stroll back and forth between the garden and the pool. If you want to live in seclusion, then treat yourself to a Royale Terrace Apartment. In this room type, you’ll get to enjoy your own jacuzzi and Balinese beds on your private terrace. Perfect for a little time out while your gang is out and about.

I bet the first thing your kids will do is storm the pirate ship in the children’s pool. There, they’ll soon come into contact with other children very quickly and effortlessly when the pool pirates defend their ship from attackers. I’m sure there’s a dad willing to volunteer to play the attacker. While the kids are fully in their element, the parents can relax in the adults-only chill-out zone of the children’s hotel. In the Mini Club and on the playground, Bufo the hotel mascot is always around to keep an eye on the little ones. Maybe you’ll even manage to persuade your children to tear themselves away from all that fun to go on an excursion with you. You can rent bikes at the hotel and explore the surrounding greenery with its wild pine forests.

Family hotel on the east coast of Majorca

A combination of holiday apartment and hotel is always good for families. The Hipotels Dunas Cala Millor offers you spacious apartments with the services and facilities of a hotel. Leave your everyday worries behind, while your little ones splash around in the kids’ pool. Once their skin is all shrivelled from the water, send them over to the kids’ playground. The next adventure will be awaiting them there.

Hit the minigolf course for a family contest. You’d best team up with a child if you want to at least have a shot at winning. But no matter who emerges victorious: everyone will surely want an ice cream afterwards! Having spent the whole day by the pool, the next day you may want to visit the beach, which is directly in front of the children’s hotel. Build giant sand castles with moats and then dive into the sea to cool down!
